Description
About True Blue

Mike Strantz did a fine job designing his fourth signature course, True Blue. In 1998, True Blue was immediately praised upon opening next to Strantz’s previously designed course, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Because of his work at both courses, Strantz went on to win the 1998 award for “Architect of the Year.”

True Blue is a par-72 course which can stretch up to 7,126. Strantz designed this course keeping true to the natural beauty of the 19th century indigo and rice plantation that True Blue is set on. He also tried to design the course after his muses of Pine Valley and Pinehurst #2.

The layout of this course is fun, dynamic, dramatic, and somewhat challenging. True Blue features many elevation changes, sprawling fairways, and undulating greens. Because of its setting, this Pawleys Island course offers a more relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach, and True Blue offers a beautiful view of oak trees, tall pines, salt marshes, and tidal creeks, giving golfers a glimpse of the Lowcountry.

In addition to Strantz’s award for his design, True Blue has won various awards recognizing the quality of the layout. In fact, True Blue made the list of “America’s Top 100 Public Course” and also won the award for the “No. 1 Public Course in the Myrtle Beach Area.”

With five sets of tees at each hole, True Blue offers the opportunity for players of all skill-sets to enjoy a round of golf. So when you are in the Myrtle Beach area, True Blue is a must-play for all golfers.
