This place truly stands out among the many eateries on Restaurant Row; maybe it’s the large replicas of a ship and a lighthouse in front of the building, or perhaps it’s the actual “giant crab” that straddles the doors to this establishment. Cheesy decor aside, this is the place for seafood – and lots of it.
Giant Crab Food
This place is all about the buffet – a 170-item embarrassment of riches that serves as the centerpiece of the large, open dining area and features several stations. The Steam and Raw Bar is a great place to get started with steamed shrimp, crawfish, mussels, clams and Lowcountry boil. The seafood station is brimming with the bounty of sea, including snow crab legs, calamari, fried flounder, stuffed scallops, mahi mahi, and the fried fish of the day. Get your fill on sides with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and mac & cheese among others. A carving station, soup, salad and dessert bar, and even a hibachi grill ensure there’s plenty of variety to choose from, and the kids have their own station serving burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, and other favorites. You won’t leave hungry.
Giant Crab Atmosphere
The nautical-themed decor is dominant throughout the restaurant, although the Pirate’s Island Tavern provides adults with a nice escape from the buffet scene. Like most buffets, the dining area is bustling with diners going to and from the food stations. Giant Crab manages to maintain a mood that is more fun than most all-you-cant-eat feed troughs.

We have been vacationing in North Myrtle Beach for over 17 years, Many of those times it was to have our annual 1st weekend in November Sister-Sister and Brother to Brother Retreats. It has been from 25 to about 60 of us. Every year our ladies from all over the United States looked forward to the great food and hospitality we get each year from Ms. Brittany Wilson and Staff. When our ladies step out of our vehicles' in our Black Formal gowns, our tiaras and our men ministry join us there, The Giant Crab staff always have our reservation ready with a smile. Ms Wilson always see to it that we are taken care of. The Wait Staff is incredible and the food is awesome! Some times My husband and I get group of other ministers and their spouses or our children will leave the Wilson NC area to do a one day trip Just to treat our selves to the best seafood place we know in the North Myrtle Beach area, "The Giant Crab"

Yummy everything
I loved it here. Is was like an adventure. They show you to your table. My husband and I were throughly impressed with the buffet. Great crabs and pasta bar. I will be coming back.

Best Buffet
I've been to Giant Crab dozens of times when I'm in Myrtle and am never disappointed. Their buffet is delicious! I loved it when they added a chocolate fountain!

Fantastic Buffet
My family always enjoys a visit to Giant Crab on vacation! The hibachi bar has to be one of the best I've seen. Even when I've picked out the items to watch staff prepare they will make recommendations on additional flavors I might want to consider. It ends up great every time. The crab legs are always a family favorite! The kids love the chocolate fountain, the kids bar and all of the other tasty options! The waitstaff are so friendly and we feel the dinner is definitely worth it!
