Overview
Farmer’s Markets
Nothing beats browsing the Myrtle Beach farmers markets for fresh produce, homemade treats, and other goodies from local growers and artisans. Most are in full swing in warmer months when veggies and fruits reach their peak. Expect to see a range of 20 or so vendors at each farmers market around Myrtle Beach. The Waccamaw Market Co-op organizes many of these events using a rotation of about 100 participants, from farmers to food trucks and artists.
Unlike the setup at a typical grocery store, an open-air market lets you enjoy the beautiful beach weather while you shop. Many hotels with suites feature a full kitchen in each unit, so you can stock the fridge with fresh produce, fruit, grass-fed meats, eggs, and other local ingredients. For the best selection, head to Myrtle Beach farmers markets early in the day to take a few laps, speak to the growers, try samples, and browse before the crowds arrive. Even if you plan to let the area restaurants do most of the cooking for you, grab a few baked goods for delicious, easy snacks.
You’ll find the market locations convenient to fit one or more into your itinerary of things to do. Waccamaw Co-op hosts a market near the popular Market Common shopping district. Myrtle’s Market, the city’s farmers market, is just steps from Myrtle Beach hotels. And others in nearby communities, including North Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach, are only a short drive away.
