102 THINGS TO DO IN MYRTLE BEACH
17. Skating

Overview
Skating

Head to a Myrtle Beach skating rink or skate park to enjoy hours of inexpensive entertainment playing hockey, practicing tricks, riding ramps, and having fun. Whether you’re a new skater or you’ve been at it for years, Myrtle Beach offers places to skate for nearly any skill level or age. Families with older children appreciate these activities for teens, and the venues are conveniently located near the area’s hotels and resorts to keep everyone busy without spending all day in the car.

Skateboarding isn’t allowed everywhere in the city, so before you show off your best ollie in a public parking lot, seek out a skate park in Myrtle Beach. They’re well designed and give boarders a selection of obstacles to try. If you forgot your helmet or knee pads, several skate shops in the area carry all the equipment you’ll need.

If skating is more your style, the rinks in Myrtle Beach offer fun and active settings to show off your skills. Though there aren’t ice skating rinks in the city, Myrtle Beach does have roller rinks that mimic the feel of ice underfoot—without the cold! These venues host hockey games and open skate times, too. Families or couples looking for new things to do love that there is still a classic roller skating rink in Myrtle Beach. Lace up your skates (or grab a pair of roller blades) and get ready to dance the day or night away under the fantastic light show.
