About Downwind Sails Watersports: What to Know
If you find yourself sitting on the beach staring out into the Atlantic, thinking “I wish I was out there,” then your best bet is probably Downwind Sails Watersports.
The accident-free experts at Downwind Sails Watersports have been providing a variety of boating experiences in Myrtle Beach since 1981, offering services like:
Parasailing – soar up above the ocean with up to three people per sail. You can also choose whether you’d like to stay dry or dip down for an occasional splash.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding – stand-up paddleboarding, also referred to as SUP, is the newest trend in watersports. This relaxing, easy activity requires no prior experience. SUP rentals do not require reservations, and are rented by the hour.
Jet Skis – hop on one of these popular water vehicles alone or with a partner and motor your way around the open sea.
Banana Boats – the only thing you’ll need to do here is hang on and enjoy the ride. Each boat accommodates up to six at a time.
Hobie Cats – If proper sailing is your thing, then this is the boat for you. These boats are quick and agile, making for an adventurous water experience. Take a ride on a Hobie Cat with a professional skipper or take lessons on how to sail one!
Double Ocean Kayaks – This could be the most fun work-out in the area. Paddle out along the coast or through the waves in double ocean kayaks and have fun splashing around. No experience is neccessary for ocean kayaking, however, you will get wet! Kayak rentals do not require reservations, and are rented out by the hour.
Guided Jet Ski Tour – Downwind Sails’ guided Jet Ski tour lasts 90 minutes and features a guided search for oceanlife. Minimum 2 Jet Skis per trip (2-3 people per Jet Ski).
Banana Boat Guided Tour –the Banana Boat Guided Tour at Downwind Sails lasts for 90 minutes and features a search for wildlife. Minimum 4 people per tour / maximum 6 people per boat.
For your peace of mind, all of the captains at Downwind are certified by the US Coast Guard, and highly-qualified in CPR and first-aid. Also, training is available if needed, and all safety equipment will be provided on site.
Excursions like these are obviously weather-permitting, so be sure to check the forecast before you head out. That said, it’s mostly sunny in Myrtle Beach year-around. So book your adventure today!

Parasailing Was AWESOME!
This was my second time to parasail with Downwind Sails and Watersports. My daughter-in-law and I went on the Enterprise Boat and Alex and Dylan were the BEST! They were very professional and took great care of us on our parasailing adventure . We would like to comparo these two young men to Brass and Gold. Brass is an element that will lose its shine or luster if it isn’t polished. Gold never needs polishing. It will shine without being polished. Dylan and Alex you both are gold employees of DownWind Sailing and Watersports of Myrtle Beach, SC. Keep up the high standards. Y’all are the BEST!

Beach Lover
My 14 yr old son went parasailing for the first time and he said it was so much fun and relaxing. He was a little nervous at first but the staff on the boats made him feel better . Said they were all super nice while out there. Also the workers where you checkin and get your lifejackets were very friendly also. Just an all around great 1st experience.
