Wahoo’s Fish House

Consisting of two separate restaurants in the same great location — at 3993 Hwy 17 Business, waterfront in Murrells Inlet  — Wahoo’s features both a laid-back raw bar with a more upscale seafood restaurant. Wahoo’s Fish House, formerly known as Divine Fish House, serves fresh seafood fished from the waters off of Murrells Inlet daily in an elegant indoor dining room, while Wahoo’s Raw Bar serves up great food, drinks and live music in a fun outdoor tiki bar setting.

No matter which side you choose, you can’t go wrong with the top-notch cuisine and access to the stunning views and fun times you’re sure to find along the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk.

Wahoo’s Fish House

If you choose to dine at Wahoo’s Fish House, both the food and atmosphere are worth noting.

This seafood restaurant is surrounded outside by native South Carolina Palmetto trees and the beautiful Murrells Inlet waters, while the interior is warm and inviting with wooden tables and booths and origami folded lights hanging from above. Wahoo’s Fish House offers many diners a chance to enjoy breathtaking views of the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk as they eat.

Guests will also enjoy the elegantly prepared selection of seafood, aged beefs, exotic meats and sushi that have won praise from publications such as Southern Living and Bon Appetite.

You can start your dinner with appetizers like the Fried Green Tomatoes, Seared Tuna served over fruit and wasabi salad, or the Fried Calamari and then move on to the delectable She Crab soup or hearty Lobster Bisque.  Wahoo’s also serves a unique Spinach and Blackberry Salad made with peanut clusters, white cheddar, red onion, fresh blackberries and blood orange vinaigrette.

The Fresh Catch of the Day is prepared however you like and served with wild rice pilaf or whipped potatoes.

You also can’t go wrong with a fried Seafood platter, made with breaded and fried shrimp, oysters, fish and more. Other specialties and entrees include the Garibaldi Drive a fresh catch of the day, blackened and prepared with lump crab, almonds and lemon butter, The Nutty Wahoo,  crusted with macadamia nuts served over fried greens, potatoes, and bacon and The Grilled Rack of Colorado Lamb, oven roasted and served with bacon jam, whipped potatoes and sautéed asparagus.

You can add lobster tail, crab-cake, shrimp, oysters and crab legs to any entree for an additional cost. Wahoo’s Fish House has a full bar. Menu prices range from $5.95 for appetizers to $29.95 for steak entree.

They are open for dinner Monday through Friday from 5-10 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 5 -10:30 p.m.

Wahoo’s Raw Bar & Marina

Fresh seafood, good times and a wonderful view are the ingredients that make up Wahoo’s Raw Bar & Marina, which sits just outside Wahoo’s Fish House in a colorfully-decorated outdoor tiki bar.

The atmosphere at Wahoo’s is Murrells Inlet-casual, meaning come as you are and have a good time. The back patio offers excellent views of the inlet, where visitors can watch the fishing boats returning home with from a day at sea, the same fleet that likely delivered their dinners.

There’s also stage for live music, with some of the Grand Strand’s best musicians performing nightly throughout the summer, with tunes ranging from rock and reggae to laid-back acoustic tunes.

When it comes to the menu at Wahoo’s, the staff uses fresh seafood and Lowcountry cooking to create some amazing dishes, like the award-winning BBQ Tuna Tacos with watermelon salsa and Southern-style slaw, and the famous She Crab Soup in a cream-and-sherry broth topped with lump crab meat.

There’s also plety of great appetizers, such as Fried Green Tomatoes topped with blackened shrimp, salads such as the Summer Bib with berries and almonds and sandwiches including the Spicy Sesame Grouper sandwich, that make for a great late lunch.

If you’re visiting this seafood restaurant for dinner, go deep into the entrée menu and find fresh catches served up grilled, baked or blackened, and also enjoy perfectly fried, golden-brown fish, shrimp and oyster platters. Up for some surf and turf? Try the Carpet Bagger, a filet topped with fried oysters and remoulade, or the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli.

An extensive wine list and a full bar specializing in frozen drinks are also available.

Wahoo’s Raw Bar & Marina is open daily from 4 p.m. to midnight.
