Barefoot Landing Welcomes New Waterfront Restaurant
Big Chill Island House, boasting 370 seats and stunning Intracoastal Waterway views, has officially opened its doors at Barefoot Landing.
The menu features fresh, local seafood alongside innovative culinary creations and classic American favorites. Diners can savor their meals with the breathtaking waterfront as their backdrop, either from the main dining area or the rooftop bar. Inspired by the Caribbean and the laid-back beach atmosphere, Big Chill also offers tequila and rum tastings alongside its extensive drink selection.
This marks the third Big Chill location, joining its siblings in Delaware. Owned by La Vida Hospitality Group, the team behind Crooked Hammock Brewery, Big Chill Island House reflects their commitment to creating exceptional dining experiences in unique and relaxing settings. The restaurant’s design, with rooftop bars, eclectic interiors, seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and cozy lounges, creates a picture-perfect destination for both vacationers and locals.
Big Chill Anchors the Thriving Dockside Village at Barefoot Landing
Big Chill Island House is the latest addition to a series of exciting developments at Barefoot Landing.
Dockside Village boasts a beautiful, walkable restaurant district with a diverse range of culinary options, inviting common areas, waterfront dining, and outdoor entertainment venues. The architectural style reflects the charm and character of the Carolina coast, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
The transformation includes a stage, outdoor event spaces, a playground, revamped walkways and facades, 20 finger docks, and the addition of several new anchor tenants. Big Chill joins the likes of Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s, Taco Mundo, Crooked Hammock Brewery, LuLu’s Beach Arcade & Mountain of Youth Ropes Course, Greg Norman Australian Grille, and Flying Fish Public Market and Grill, all within Dockside Village.
“The last few years have brought remarkable changes to Barefoot Landing,” said April Dendy Martin, Senior Vice President of the Burroughs & Chapin Commercial Division. “We’re thrilled to see our vision for Dockside Village come to life.”
Beyond Dockside Village: Barefoot Offers Something for Everyone
The exciting developments extend beyond Dockside Village. New additions to the property include Tara Grinna, Blueberry’s Grill, and Land Shark Bar & Grill. Barefoot Landing has also expanded its offerings with popular annual events throughout the year, including Rock ‘N Paws, SeptemberFest, OktoberFest, a holiday golf cart parade, and regular live music performances during spring, summer, and fall.
“The events add vibrancy for both the property and the community,” says Kim Kelley, the Barefoot Landing Marketing Manager. “The Lighting of the Landing, a long-standing tradition, now attracts over 4,000 people annually. We’re proud to be a gathering place for the community thanks to these positive changes.”
Barefoot Landing remains committed to giving back. As one of North Myrtle Beach’s only pet-friendly destinations, they regularly partner with the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. They also support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Toys for Tots, contributing to these worthy causes in the local area.
