An incredible three-act ROCK N ROLL 60s REVIVAL graces the Alabama Theatre stage on Sunday, February 25th, 2024 at 7pm starring The Brooklyn Bridge. The Bridge was formed by combining the Crests’ lead singer, Johnny Maestro, with the Del-Satins (Dion’s backup singers) and the horn players from the Rhythm Method. Maestro had several hits in the late 1950s with the Crests, including “16 Candles,” “The Angels Listened In” and “Step by Step,” and the Bridge still perform those songs in concert. They signed with Buddah Records in 1968 and, in 1969, enjoyed their biggest hit, “The Worst That Could Happen” (peaked at #3 on the Billboard charts), a song written by Jimmy Webb. Other Brooklyn Bridge hits include “Welcome Me Love,” “Blessed is the Rain, “ “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “Your Husband, My Wife.” They sold more than 10 million records and appeared on shows such as Ed Sullivan. The Bridge was featured in 1999 on PBS’ DOO WOP 50, and they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005. The incomparable Johnny Maestro died in 2010, and Joe Esposito is now the current lead singer. He performed “Lady, Lady, Lady” in the 1983 hit movie “Flashdance” and “You’re the Best” in 1984’s “Karate Kid.” He collaborated with Donna Summer on “Heaven Knows” and “Bad Girls.” The Brooklyn Bridge will bring down the house at the Alabama Theatre.
Co-headlining the show are New Jersey’s The Duprees. They started out singing on street corners in New Jersey and decades later they are known worldwide for their timeless romantic interpretations of some of the most beautiful love songs ever written. They possess a smooth yet powerful vocal quality and heavenly harmonies, evidenced in the huge hit “You Belong to Me.” Other hits include: “My Own True Love,” “Why Don’t you Believe Me,” “Have you Heard,” and the themes from “Exodus” and “Gone with the Wind.” Current members of The Duprees are Tommy Petillo, Phil Granito and Jimmy Spinelli.
Opening the show, direct from Las Vegas is E’Stefano DiSanto. A well-known headliner in Vegas and frequent “Best of” lists on the Strip, who will sing songs from his Lost 45s album.
Three great acts, one great night of musical memories that will transport the audience back in time to a wonderful era in our music history. The Alabama Theatre, Sunday, February 25th, 2024 at 7pm
