The 2023 Military Appreciation Days Family Picnic is canceled due to weather.
The Military Appreciation Picnic follows the Military Appreciation Days Parade on Farrow Parkway at The Market Common.
The picnic-style celebration — complete with hamburgers and hot dogs — is open to everyone.
The picnic is in the Valor Memorial Garden. Caitlin Bassett, military veteran and Grand Marshal of the Military Appreciation Days Parade, will be on hand to greet guests. Her father, Steve Bassett, a Vietnam War veteran, will sing during the event. Steve and his wife, Judy, have called Myrtle Beach home for the last decade while Caitlin considers Myrtle Beach her “second home.”
“I’m so excited to be included in this wonderful memorial alongside my father,” Caitlin said. “I’m incredibly honored to have the opportunity to join the Military Appreciation Days celebrations with the great community of Myrtle Beach.”
Come out to enjoy the food and exhibits in remembrance of those who bravely served our country.
