Description
About Veterans’ March on Memorial Day and The Battlefield Cross Ceremony
The March on Memorial Day in Myrtle Beach originated with World War II veteran Jack Platt. Veterans will march on Ocean Boulevard in solemn remembrance for those who fought before them and lost their lives. This event is not a parade but a chance for veterans to collectively observe the meaning behind Memorial Day. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the march to show their support, too. The walk ends at the Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, where the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association performs the Battlefield Cross ceremony.
This year’s march begins at 9:00 a.m. at 16th Avenue North on Monday, May 31.
