You can’t beat these monsters from the waters of Appalachacola Bay, served up old school – on a bed of ice with drawn butter, crackers, cocktail sauce and a lime. Enjoy them as part of a Maryland-style steam kettle filled with crab legs, sausage, red potatoes and corn on the cob.

Bimini's Oyster Bar

Bimini's Oyster Bar

930 Lake Arrowhead Rd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

based on 3 reviews

Tucked away in a strip mall in the Arcadian Shores section of Myrtle Beach, Bimini’s may look like an unlikely place to find fresh oysters from the outside. But it’s what’s inside that counts, and Bimini’s doesn’t disappoint. The popular locals’ hangout specializes in steamed oysters, but try them fried Calabash-style too. Nothing goes better with a Sunday afternoon of NFL football than its all-you-can-eat oyster roasts.

Rockefeller's Raw Bar

Rockefeller's Raw Bar

3613 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582

This North Myrtle Beach hot spot has some of the best seafood in town, but they are famous for their oysters. Grab a seat at the surfboard bar tables and load it up with dozens of melt-in-your mouth mollusks on the half shell. Check out happy hour when you can get them for $1 apiece.

Local’s tip: Ask for a cup of the restaurant’s diablo sauce for dipping. It’s a bit spicy so go ahead and order a cold beer at the same time.

Shuckers Raw Bar

Shuckers Raw Bar

1320 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

The Original Shuckers on Third Avenue North in downtown Myrtle Beach has been serving some of the best raw oysters on the Grand Strand for over a quarter-century. They offer them on the half shell, and they’re only 95 cents apiece during happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday. They air most major sports events (with the exception of Sunday NFL games since they’re closed Sundays), so if you need a place to watch the game while devouring some delicious seafood, they’ve got you covered.
