This long-standing barbecue establishment has undergone a major renovation in recent years, both to the building and menu. The menu has seen the addition of seafood and country cooking, and the dining area has been expanded to include a room with trees growing through the roof. Hog Heaven is about as close to an authentic country store/diner as you will find on the Grand Strand.

Hog Heaven’s motto “More Than Just BBQ” holds true now that an emphasis has been placed on fresh seafood and down-home Southern cooking. Yes, Hog Heaven still makes great barbecued pulled pork, ribs and chicken slow-smoked over hickory coals. But diners can now select from a country cooking buffet, featuring a wide selection of meats and vegetables, and seafood, including fried shrimp, oysters, scallops and crab legs. Hungry visitors can order the all-you-can-eat shrimp and oysters, or try a seafood platter combination featuring only your favorites. Wine and beer are available but no alcoholic drinks.

Hog Heaven really is a little slice of paradise in Pawleys Island. With many upscale eateries to choose from, Hog Heaven stands alone as a place you can wear your stretchy pants and fill up on some good comfort grub. Families make up the majority of the customer base, but special oyster roasts and pig-pickins can attract a party crowd.
