About The Shack Restaurant
Long-time locals and visitors remember this place as “The Biscuit Shack,” a family-owned, family-style establishment that was a North Myrtle Beach mainstay. But after the founding
matriarch passed away, the spirit of the restaurant was kept alive by new owners of “The
Shack.” It’s still a local institution, and still serves some of the best country cooking on the
Grand Strand.
The Shack Food
“Just like grandma used to make” is more than a motto at The Shack. From fresh country
breakfast with all the fixings to lunch and dinner spreads, The Shack makes sure you leave
happy and not hungry. Breakfast features all the standards – eggs, bacon, sausage, grits,
gravy and biscuits. Lunch features daily meat-and-three specials, with main dishes like meat
loaf, fried chicken, pork chops, chicken bog and more on the rotating menu. Take your pick
of mashed potatoes, green beans, tomato pie, mac and cheese and all the comfort food
favorite side items. The Shack also does Calabash-style seafood for dinner, offering fried fish,
shrimp, crab cakes and more.
The Shack Atmosphere
Guests feel at home at this quaint but warm eatery, partly because of the small-town diner
décor but also for the Southern hospitality. Regulars bounce friendly banter back and forth
with the staff, creating a fun environment. Families on a budget can eat like champs at this
diner and strangers come but never leave The Shack.
