Funplex amusement park coming to downtown Myrtle Beach
A tropical-themed amusement park featuring a roller coaster and six other rides is slated to be built in downtown Myrtle Beach by spring 2021.
The Funplex, which has two existing parks in New Jersey, also features a walk-up bar, restaurant, arcade games and party rooms for private events.
Developers of the park promise to pack a big punch in a small footprint.
The park will be between 14th and 15th avenues on the inland side of Ocean Boulevard, an area that is currently a parking lot. It is across Ocean Boulevard from the relatively new BLVD complex, which houses Tin Roof, Banditos, BurgerFi and Starbucks.
Rides at The Funplex are targeted to different ages and thrill levels, including a roller coaster that races around the perimeter of the park, a tea cup ride, an interactive flying jet ride, and more.
