From art-themed restaurants and galleries to family-friendly artist events, artists will love our Myrtle Beach art guide, which gives the scoop on the artsy places of the Grand Strand:
Attractions
Brookgreen Gardens
1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576
Perhaps the most beautiful place along the Grand Strand is Brookgreen Gardens; a sprawling Lowcountry garden full of sculptures and wildlife. This once-working rice plantation used to be the home of famous American sculptor, Anna Hyatt Huntington, and her husband, Archer Milton Huntington. Anna’s works can be seen throughout the gardens along with the works of other sculptors. In fact, Brookgreen is home to the largest American figurative sculpture collection in the United States!
ART Burger Sushi Bar
706 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
See some beautiful local art and dig into some delicious food at Art Burger Sushi Bar in downtown Myrtle Beach. This oceanfront restaurant is located on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and is decorated with gorgeous local artwork. Here, guests can enjoy a variety of gourmet burgers and made-to-order sushi while checking out the art on the dining room walls. The menus here are even shaped like paint palettes!
Art Museum of Myrtle Beach
3100 S Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
Also known as the Myrtle Beach Art Museum, the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is located just steps away from the sandy beach in a vintage beach cottage. The free attraction is open Tuesday-Sunday throughout the year and features 11 galleries with regional, national, and international art that changes frequently. The Myrtle Beach Art Museum is a nonprofit attraction and is great for the whole family.
Island Art Gallery
The Island Art Gallery is located in the Village Shops in Pawleys Island and is home to beautiful art as well as educational classes. The quaint gallery features over 25 owner and member artists, many of which are inspired by the surrounding Lowcountry nature. In-house artists also offer classes and workshops for painting, jewelry-making, and much more!
William H. Miller Studios
Downtown Myrtle Beach is home to a hidden art gem – William H. Miller Studios. This small gallery features the works of William H. Miller, who experiments in digital art, paintings, photography, and mixed media. Along with his personal art, Miller also allows other artists to display their works in his space for specific themes each month.
